April 11, 2011 - New Album Available

Roadside Shrines is finished and available and we're really excited about the results. There's an overall theme for the album and it weaves in and out of each song. We included a part 3 to the "song" the Secret System that has the signature dialogue included. The first album contains part 1 and 2. The album is made to be a journey of sorts - and we have something in mind for the listener to take away if the opportunity is taken to listen to whole album from start to finish. December 12, 2010 - New Album

So we've wrapped up most of the recording for the new album and we anticipate the mixing and mastering being done over the next few months. We've got a show lined up for December 14 at Crocodile Rock in Allentown, PA, and after that we're taking a "Christmas break" for a few weeks. The band will be resuming regular practices every Thursday evening in January of 2011. We've already started on rough ideas for a few songs for the third album, and there's even one song that is put together completely. Our minds are working on an overall concept or theme for the third album and we seem to be honing in on what we're going after. Stay tuned - we'll fill you in soon! July 7, 2010 - Recording & the New CD

So we started recording the new CD a couple of weeks ago. Pook did an amazing job and nailed 5 of the album's 13 songs. (most of them in one take!) The idea is to track all of the songs live and together as a band. We hope by doing this it will keep the energy and chemistry that we've been developing over the past few months. If the first batch of tracks are any indication, I think we're definitely onto something. I'm extremely happy with the songs that have been written for this record! You may be wondering how the music will sound with different band members and a different approach. Well to answer you: it will sound... different! Ha ha, but seriously, I think that the biggest difference between this record and the last is the process in which it was developed. The first CD was basically a studio creation that evolved into a gigging band. The new record was written and will be recorded by a gigging band. In my opinion this will have a major impact on the over all feel of the songs. Yet in the face of all of this change, there will be no mistaking that this is indeed a Secret System record. It has the characteristic vibey elements that coalesce with heavy guitars. It has delicate passages and brutal riffing. It's melodic and thoughtful.

If you want to get a glimpse of the new material before the CD is done, then I guess you'll have to come out to one of our upcoming shows! Check the website for new dates!
